Worship from Home
As we enter into week two of not being able to meet in person on Sundays, we are continuing to provide you with resources to worship at home. Even though we can’t be together in person, we can connect as we worship through prayer, song, and the Word.
As a reminder, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have encouraged us that:
Being a part of the Church of England is going to look very different in the days ahead. Our life is going to be less characterised by attendance at church on Sunday, and more characterised by the prayer and service we offer each day.
To that end, you may also want to use other online and phone app resources during the week, such as:
• The Church of England’s Daily Prayer – short acts of prayer and worship for Morning, Midday, Evening and Night
• Lectio 365 – a daily devotional that helps you pray the Bible
• The Bible in One Year – daily Bible readings with commentary
All of these resources are also available as phone apps.
This document contains what should be familiar Morning Worship liturgy for Lent. You will also find links to hymns and songs in the usual places, as well as this week a link to a short video sermon from Elise. This week, we have also included resources for children, including a video of the story of Lazarus and worship bulletins and colouring sheets.
Anything in blue text with an underline links to video resources.
So, whether you are on your own or with friends and family, take time this Sunday to worship our great God. Please let us know how you find this resource and how we might improve it. We are looking at a range of options for supporting you in worship at home throughout this season.
